Presentation of the 2025 Cultural Programme
Today, the press conference was held to launch the 2025 cultural programme of BAM – Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano.
In the year of its twentieth anniversary, Fondazione Riccardo Catella launches the new 2025 cultural programme of BAM – Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano, conceived and directed by Francesca Colombo, General Cultural Manager of BAM, Fondazione Riccardo Catella. The programme features more than 300 events, always free of charge and open to everyone, celebrating talent, wonder, inclusion and multiculturalism. From March to December, it will bring the large botanical garden of Portanuova to life. With the aim of connecting people, generating participation and inspiring new practices of sharing, the seventh season of BAM’s cultural programme develops around a profound and universal theme: human fragility and vulnerability, celebrating the courage to go beyond limits, whether physical, emotional or psychological, and to break down social and geographical barriers.
BAM’s season begins on 30 March with BAM Spring Festival, the first of four days celebrating the change of season through different artistic languages. The protagonist of the Spring Festival will be the flower, a symbol of fragility, delicacy and ephemeral beauty, explored through dance.
2025 marks an important anniversary for Fondazione Riccardo Catella, which celebrates 20 years of activity. Over the past two decades, the Foundation has played a key role in promoting a culture of sustainability, supporting innovative projects and regenerating urban green areas. In particular, with the MiColtivo, Orto a Scuola project, active since 2012, Fondazione Riccardo Catella continues its commitment to spreading environmental education among younger generations, creating inclusive educational gardens and regenerating the courtyards of Milan’s public schools. The project is active in 9 schools, with more than 1,500 square metres of regenerated spaces and the involvement of over 200 teachers and 10,000 students.
The 2025 cultural programme of BAM – Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano was presented to the press today in the presence of Alida Forte Catella, Vice President of Fondazione Riccardo Catella; Kelly Russell Catella, General Manager of Fondazione Riccardo Catella; Francesca Colombo, General Cultural Manager of BAM, Fondazione Riccardo Catella; Tommaso Sacchi, Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Milan; Francesca Caruso, Councillor for Culture of the Lombardy Region; Franco Aletti, Board Member of Fondazione di Comunità Milano; Chiara Angeli, Head of Commercial Operations at Volvo Car Italia; and Federico Casini, CEO of Howden.
