RENOVATION
The headquarters of Fondazione Riccardo Catella is located in a historic late-19th-century building, originally constructed as a railway warehouse.
Over the course of the 20th century, the space was first transformed into a film set and later into a contemporary art laboratory.
In 2006, following a major restoration project, the building was returned to the city, marking the launch of the Foundation’s first concrete project on the ground. The restoration enhanced the building’s original identity, preserving its historic Art Nouveau structure while integrating contemporary architectural solutions tailored to new cultural and operational needs.
Today, the headquarters stands as a symbol of urban regeneration and the enhancement of industrial heritage. The entire building is powered by 100% certified renewable electricity, in line with the Foundation’s commitment to environmental sustainability and the reduction of CO₂ emissions.
