Yesterday, 21 April, we inaugurated the new educational garden at Istituto Comprensivo Calasanzio, celebrating the tenth edition of “MiColtivo, Orto a Scuola”: a project that, over time, has become an authentic shared educational journey, capable of generating value that extends far beyond the classroom.

The 2026 edition carries an even deeper meaning: in a strongly multicultural school context, the garden becomes a tangible tool for integration. Through working together, collaboration and shared care, authentic connections are created, learning processes are facilitated and a sense of belonging is strengthened.

In the presence of 250 students, teachers and families, the speakers included: Immacolata Salvatore, Headteacher of IC Calasanzio; Kelly Russell Catella, General Manager of Fondazione Riccardo Catella; Silvia Fossati, President of Municipality 7, Municipality of Milan; Umberto Ambrosoli, President of Fondazione Banca Popolare di Milano; and Giulio Arnoldi, Founder and CEO of HW STYLE S.r.l., supporting partners of the initiative, bearing witness to its civic and cultural value.

The day was enriched by an exhibition of drawings and comics created by the young students, who interpreted themes such as conscious eating, biodiversity and the relationship between nature and the world of insects with great sensitivity. It was a creative and participatory perspective, capable of conveying the depth of the bond between the environment and everyday life.

The 2026 edition of “MiColtivo, Orto a Scuola” is made possible thanks to the collaboration with the Municipality of Milan, the patronage of the Federation of the Orders of Agronomists and Forestry Doctors of Lombardy, the support of HW STYLE S.r.l. as Green Partner, and the support of Fondazione Banca Popolare di Milano.
