Fondazione Riccardo Catella partner of the First Forum on Biodiversity, Natural Capital and Ecosystem Services of the Po District
On 12 and 13 March, the First Forum on Biodiversity, Natural Capital and Ecosystem Services of the Po District was held at the headquarters of Fondazione Riccardo Catella. The event, promoted by the Fondazione per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile and the Po River District Basin Authority, represented a crucial meeting point for environmental protection policies and sustainable development in the region.
Francesca Colombo, General Cultural Manager of BAM, Fondazione Riccardo Catella, and Elena Grandi, Councillor for Green Spaces of the Municipality of Milan, opened the proceedings with their institutional greetings. The first day featured significant contributions from Alessandro Bratti, Secretary General of the Po River District Basin Authority, and Edo Ronchi, President of the Fondazione per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile, focusing on the research project and on strategies to enhance biodiversity in the Po District.
Today, 13 March, the Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, opened the session with an institutional speech of national relevance. The keynote speech by Joyeeta Gupta offered an international perspective on policies to address the climate crisis and enhance Natural Capital.
The event concluded with strong engagement from experts in the sector, who shared innovative practices for the management, protection and restoration of ecosystems, promoting a more sustainable management of natural resources in the Po District.
