BAM Spring FESTIVAL

On Sunday, 30 March, Fondazione Riccardo Catella welcomed spring with the BAM Spring Festival, inaugurating the new cultural season of BAM – Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano, curated by Francesca Colombo. Thousands of people took part in a special day dedicated to nature, dance, play and creativity.

Among the most significant moments was the inauguration of the BAM Rose Garden – Oasis for Insects and Butterflies, a new botanical space that enriches the park, promotes biodiversity and makes nature even more accessible to everyone. This new green space was designed in continuity with the original values of Fondazione Riccardo Catella, which, through the BAM project, aimed to create a natural place of culture, inclusion, safety and accessibility.

Thanks to the collaboration with the reference associations — L’abilità Onlus, Ente Nazionale Sordi and I.N.M.A.C.I. — an analysis process was carried out to ensure an experience accessible to all. The BAM Rose Garden is equipped with ramps for people with motor disabilities, an LVE tactile path with dedicated maps for blind and visually impaired people, an LIS video and two guides designed for people with cognitive disabilities.

The inauguration was attended by: Kelly Russell Catella, General Manager of Fondazione Riccardo Catella; Francesca Colombo, General Cultural Manager of BAM, Fondazione Riccardo Catella; Elena Grandi, Councillor for the Environment and Green Spaces of the Municipality of Milan; Architect Franco Giorgetta and Architect Gloria Montini, designers; Beatrice Barni, Head of Research and Hybridisation at Rose Barni; Dario Venegoni, President of ANED; Professor Gustavo Gandini, University of Milan, Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences; Emanuela Rosa-Clot, Editor-in-Chief of Gardenia; Laura Borghetto, General Manager of Associazione L’abilità Onlus; Eugenia Bruni, Creative Director of PASQUALE BRUNI; Fabio Aurelio di Girolamo, Secretary General of Fondazione BPM; Alberto Cavalli, General Manager of Fondazione Cologni; and Marco Capone, General Manager of LEGO®.
