BACK TO THE CITY CONCERT – V EDIZIONE
September 17th
at 8:00 PM
The Fondazione Riccardo Catella is pleased to announce the fifth edition of the Back to the City Concert – The Great Classical Music in the Park!
For the annual city return event at the end of summer, this year the internationally renowned composer and cellist Giovanni Sollima will take the open-air stage at BAM. He will be conducting the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini, founded by Riccardo Muti, composed of young musicians under 30.
The program will encompass the famous Concerto in do maggiore by Franz Joseph Haydn and the Arioso by Johann Sebastian Bach, along with two compositions by the same cellist: The N-Ice Cello Concerto per violoncello di cartone e orchestra, and When We Were Trees, which with its Vivaldi-like references reminds us that the cello was once a tree.
In addition to BAM Park Ambassadors Volvo Car Italia and Assiteca – Howden, and Park Developer & Supporter COIMA, who support all the cultural programming and activities of the park, Back to the City Concert 2023 is made possible thanks to the support of Mapei. Mapei has been a partner for the third consecutive year, standing beside one of the most anticipated events upon the return from the summer break. Technical Partners ATM, BWT, Mediamond, and Tucano, as well as Media Partner Music Paper, also play a crucial role. Lastly, a special thanks to the Fondazione Comunità Milano, which, through BANDO57, supports the entire journey leading up to the concert. They also contribute to the Back to the City Concert itself, as an organization deeply committed to promoting inclusive and socially beneficial activities, while also supporting the promotion of culture within the community.
In case of inclement weather, the Back to the City Concert will be moved, with prior notification, to the Auditorium Testori at Palazzo Lombardia. A live streaming of the concert will be activated in the Biagi Hall of Palazzo Lombardia to allow a greater number of people to enjoy the performance.
